The Mothership Wit

Anyone else tried this beer by New Belgium Brewing Co.? I just turned 21, and this was one of the "high end beers" (as my under 21 friends like to call it) that I stumbled upon and I LOVE it :thumbup1:. I may be a newb at knowing what a good beer is, but I think I found one in the Mothership Wit =P.

Its a rather good beer. If you liked that one, make sure you try to find Hoegaarden. Its the best commercial example of the style out there. As for other good beer? The sky is the limit. Try to find a local beer store that sells "make your own" 6 packs. Also, try several beers in a style before giving up on that style.

Don't let your friends call good beer high end. Just call their beer low end!

I have not been disappointed by anything that New Belgium has put out. I'll have to give this a try. Despite the fact that I live in BFE Wisconsin (ok, it's not that bad), I have a locally owned liquor store a few minutes away that goes out of their way to source beers that you wouldn't expect to find in a redneck small, western Wisconsin town.

Yes. YES! Yes, yes, yes yesyeysyesyeysyeysye. Yup.

I LOVE Hoegaarden (Who Gar Den). One night I bought Hoegaarden and Mothership Wit side-by-side, and I found Hoegaarden to be just that extra mile better.

I think the appeal of it, at least to the younger audience, is it's pretty easy drinkin'. A welcoming change over American trash that is more available. You can really pick apart flavors and enjoy it slowly.

First beer I ever had at a bar where I was served underage! Even better on draft with a lemon wedge on the side.

Agreed. If they have it yet, pick up their new Ranger IPA, too. It's brilliant for the price. I think I've had their whole gamut of beer, and Fat Tire is my favorite. Their winter seasonal is the best of any seasonal I've had. Other good breweries where I haven't had anything bad by them are Stone and Russian River.

The Ranger IPA is indeed excellent.
