The Milk Churn - 1st use

So I have received my Milk Churn and I have to say overall I think I am pleased.

This is a quick first look - I will play with the brush for a few days and see how it goes and maybe on the weekend I will follow up with more.

The knot I received has good backbone all be it a little smaller than my norm of 24mm. The knot I have is about 22.5mm x 47
I did a quick washt to get some of the initial funk out (still has some as I was impatient) and went to work.
The hair is Simpsons Best and I found that it is quite soft with virtually no scritch.
I attacked the DR Harris Marlborough soap puck and it took the soap up with no problem. I face lather and it gave me enough for three full passes.
The brush is not as dense as some but that creates good flow-through which helped it to generate a nice lather with little effort.
I used my EJ Razor with a once used Astra blade.
A nice shave was obtained.

On the Handle:
I found the handle to be very unique in style - initially I was not sure about the ergonomics but it in use, it does seem comfortable in my hand. I did think there would be more of taper from the bottom to the top - don't know why - just thought it would.

Anyway -Before and After Bloom:

Enjoy it, I'd say by the specs it was designed with face lathering in mind and I love the scrub of that Best Grade Badgers provide.

I'd say you hit the virtues on the head. These less dense Simpsons (heck, brushes in general) have great flow through and handle hard soaps with ease.

I like that fan shape knot, too. Probably very precise and comfortable, as well. I've got a Tulip that's got a little more of a bulb thing going on. I'd like to try a best in a fan or hybrid, especially since so many other users also say how soft the Bests are. I'll be that guy is a creamy pillow!

Nice brush, Craig. I am a huge Simpson Best fan and that thing really speaks to me. Looks like a face latherer's dream.
