The Leaf

Got to use one this weekend. Mighty impressive piece of engineering and incredibly easy to use.

Anyone got one?
Yes I have a Leaf Thorn, in fact I have 2 of them. I liked it so much, I got a back-up in a different finish. I have one in silver and one in mercury. I've owned over 54 different razors and the Leaf Thorn is by far the best of them all.

I have a Thorn and my wife has a Twig, which I have used before. Having recently tried Pearl's latest single edge razor, I am even more impressed with Leaf.

Guys, don't confuse the Leaf and the Leaf Twig/Thorn. Both are impressive razors and very easy to use. I much prefer the Twig over the namesake Leaf. I just don't trust the small screw and more delicate construction of the original Leaf multiblade razor. The much smaller Twig/Thorn head is much more maneuverable.

I got the Leaf because I considered head shaving, but I never did work up the courage and have only used it on my face. The Leaf is the only razor that I can go against the grain on my trouble spot with no problems. (two blades only) The Twig is my number 2 razor and one I highly recommend.

I have been trying to simplify my life most of my life and the Leaf Twig fits the bill...it is the only razor I use anymore and I am ok with it. I used a Mach3 for 20 years and I didn't even like it so I hope this is the last razor I use. I am still working on the best blade but we can't all be perfect!

I very much want to try both the twig and leaf. Can somebody with both the thorn and twig compare the efficiency differences? Is the twig excessively mild or something of a midling?

I used the Twig this morning and am BBS. It is mild, but it definitely gets the job done. There is a thread from a few days ago where the person who has both the Twig and Thorn stated that he got the same results no matter which he used. I believe @shave/brush has both and prefers the Thorn. I'm extremely pleased with my Twig.

As for the Leaf, I'd skip it unless you're a head shaver. See my earlier post for my opinion. The Twig/Thorn is a better choice for me.

Dull yet interesting

I have both and love them both.
To be brutally frank, I don't notice much difference. And I'm fairly sensitive to razors that are too aggressive. If I shaved with them blindfolded, I'm not sure I could tell the difference. If the Thorn is more aggressive, it's by a small margin in my view.
Both are fantastic razors; very maneuverable and wonderfully smooth and efficient.

I have a Leaf and a Twig razor.
I use both of them for head shaving.
I’ve begun using the Leaf with two blades for a milder shave. If I use it with all three blades loaded I usually get irritated skin.
It is great but in the ~6 months I have been head shaving I am learning more and more towards only using the Twig.
I only use the Leaf when I am in a hurry. But I always have to clean up with the Twig because I don’t have all blades loaded.

Very intrigued, especially as a head shaver. I'll think I'll try and trade for some

The 3-blade Leaf is my go-to headshaving razor. This thing seems like it was engineered for scalp scraping. Outside of the Mach3 or Fusion, it's the only razor I can count on to get everything cleared. Sure, I can headshave with a DE razor, and I very often have. But when I want to headshave with unquestionable results, and not have to chase down a bunch of sandpaper spots left over, I reach for the trusty Leaf. Blades, of course, matter. Just got done with a Minora Week headshave that was sub-par. The Shark blades from Shark Week (just last week) were fantastic in this rig. I also know from experience that Voshkods and Lord half blades work like smooth silk in this thing. I don't explore a lot of blades with this rig as I have a thousand Lord half blades in stock. But these theme weeks came along and I set the Lord blades aside. The Lord half blades work just fine. These theme week blades are just a sideshow.

I have owned one. Liked it very much. Only thing I didn't like was the fact that the turning mechanism needed some extra help every now and then, even when properly maintained and oiled.

Only reason I have parted with it, was the fact that I went back to just one platform, DE in my case. So no SE and AC razors anymore.
