I would like to introduce you to (And perhaps brag a little...) the first ever custom faux briar handle from Rudy Vey!
Brush specs are:
Handle in his new faux brair material and inspired by the AS3M
Knot: Shavemac D01 23/24 mm
Loft set at 48/50 mm
I haven't received the brush or final measurements yet but the above specs are what we decided upon.
I can echo pretty much anyone that has done business with Rudy by saying that what an experience this has been! He is a true professional and proved himself patient beyond expectations. I have never spec'd out a custom brush so naturally I had many questions and ideas for him. He quickly and thoroughly answered my questions and input his expert advice when needed.
I had numerous handle shapes (translated: Too Many!!) in mind and was considering several different materials as well so the possible combinations were borderline overwhelming. I knew that as long as he kept answering my questions and guiding me, the "right" brush combination for me would surface. As soon as he told me that he had just started carrying the faux briar material, I knew I was there. In conversation with Rudy, the AS3M handle was an obvious fit for this material. (At least for me anyways)
Within a few hours of telling him what I decided, I had these photos in an email. I think he was just as anxious as I was to see this new material take form. I can't wait to receive my new toy and put it to many years of good use!
Rudy, I can't thank you enough for your help! I am sure you will be hearing from me again after I save up enough aluminum cans to order another brush from you.
John
