I have finally gotten my technique down to where I can shave every 24hrs. with little to no irritation. And get a DFS each time save for a few parts of my neck.
Until I took up the straight razor I was unable to shave at all with out major razor rash and ingrowns no matter what I tried. So now months later with my lather beard prep and two straights in rotation I've made it to a major milestone.
I thank everyone here at B&B for all the help and advice within these threads.

I'm still working on it, but my problem is that I do things I know I shouldn't do in trying to get the smoothest shave possible.

That's the way it was for me too. After month's of rough shaves with my straights, everything just sort of fell into shape.
Perseverance and practice are really good traits when it comes to straight razor shaving.
