The Intercontinental All Italian Shave-Off

4.4.2020.

Fond memories living in Milano during 2010/11! Unfortunately, I had not begun (again, after starting w/ my dad's Slim Adjustable in 1966-ish!) DE wet shaving at that time. Lots of enjoyment of the culture, the wine, the food, the antiquities, the Italians... :)

Did I get the idea from you (I got it from someone; three #13 O Rings)?

These are special made-in-Italy Polsilver blades, right?

Very nice kit it is.

Happy shaves,

Jim

Haha! Actually. I got the idea from someone and couldn't remember who? Must have been you. :)

I like the idea of the Polsilvers. I'll have to get some. Didn't use the Bolzano 'cause it's made in Germany. Notwithstanding the earlier comments re: Italy/corporate, German/manufacture. I'll check out the Polsilvers!

Also, did not use the FaTip! It bit me when I tried it, so I promptly paid it forward. YMMV. :)

Thanks, Jim

Polsilvers are made in Italy. Don't believe what you read on the internet...

This is an Italian thread!

Apr 5: All-Italian Sunday Straight Shave

Lather:
Proraso Green "Super Formula"
Brush: Omega B&B Essential Boar (22/52mm)
Razor: Universal Rasoio a Mano Libera Lama Intera 7/8
Blade: Rapira Super Stainless [34]
Balm: Proraso White Crema Liquida Dopobarba

Nice to see this thread resurrected. I'd say 90% of my shaves have at least one Italian product every shave, and most times two or three. I'm still and will always be a fan of Italian shave products.

Two day stubble today, and the Universal full-blade shavette just wiped it clean. So satisfying. The Italian green brush and green soap are always a dynamite combo, and the white balm capped off a wonderful shave.

Fatip Piccolo Mk1
Bolzano Superinox
Zenith B03-A26 pro boar brush
Razorock Dead Sea soap
Dickinson witch hazel toner
Proraso white balm

Very close, clean shave today with this mostly Italian line-up, DFS+. Bolzano Superinox seem like a good match with the Fatip Piccolo Mk1. The Dead Sea is probably the best Razorock soap I've tried so far, I'm getting good results with it; has a pleasant lemon-herbal scent. Proraso white fit right in with that to finish things off.

I don't know of any Italian brands of witch hazel, so I used Dickinson's.

DFS++ (BBS except between my nose and my top lip) with no weepers, nicks, cuts or irritation. Absolutely wonderful shave!

First shave with the Lo Storto Originale. Awesome razor! Very similar to the Gentile, just better. Blade aligned properly the first try. Used a steep shaving angle. Smoooooooth shave. No tugging. Impressive.....most impressive!

Excellent combination of hardware and software. :)

YMMV

Another great shave (Lo Storto #5). :cornut:

Progress is slow but sure. Back to "normal," no ASL burn today.
Of course, I'm enjoying all the other hardware and software too. Only the best for me. :a2:

Apr 8: Mostly Italian Weck Wednesday

Lather:
Cella "BIO" Crema di Barba
Brush: Omega S-10019 "S-Brush" (24/52mm)
Razor: Weck Sextoblade "Trade Sample Not For Sale"
Blade: Personna Hair Shaper [10]
Post: Witch Hazel w/added Vetiver EO
Balm: Proraso White Crema Liquida Dopobarba

The mid-week tradition of Weck Wednesday continues, with predicable results. Close, smooth and effortless removal of my 2-day stubble.

The Cella BIO really seems to like the Omega S-Brush - too bad I find the brush too springy.
