So society will be something like in the movie ( Idiocracy (2006) Private Joe Bauers, the definition of "average American", is selected by the Pentagon to be the guinea pig for a top-secret hibernation program. Forgotten, he awakes five centuries in the future. He discovers a society so incredibly dumbed down that he's easily the most intelligent person alive. )

Great movie.

I have a theory that suggests the stupid people will eventually outnumber the intelligent people. Why? Because we keep implementing safety measures to protect stupid people from themselves. Before all the safety features were implemented, stupid people did something stupid and died before they could reproduce and train more stupid people. Now they are reproducing.

Both the movie Idiocracy and the classic SF story "The Marching Morons" by C. M. Kornbluth (which might have inspired Mike Judge to write the film) deal with this directly. Also the short story by Kornbluth set in the same future, "The Little Black Bag."
