The Holy Grail of shaving:

Those poor suckers. Should have done better research and then they would be aware of how little a great shave actually costs these days.

I feel sorry fir the poor saps that fall into that trap. $4.50 a pop for a cartage. I just bought a back of merkur blades at the art of shaving in Denver for less than $10. That should last me for almost a month.

"Modern" shaving has gotten rediculous.

Yes, I will be stockpiling blades.

Josh.

I can get 100 shark DE blades for less than 4 Gillette Fusion blades. So that makes them... 1/25 the cost (I'm an Anthropology major, not math, but I think that's right)

Good deal.

Typical maketing. Make them aware of something they weren't aware of. Make them want something they didn't know they wanted. Make them pay for something with money they don't have.

Dudes, seriously, I know we love this hobby and all, but the masses aren't going to start DE shaving any time soon. It's harder, and it takes longer, and there's a steep learning curve - you have to face it, this is going to be a marginal activity at best.

What the article should have done is look at aftermarket handles for Atras, TracIIs, etc. That's where the 'average joe' is going to see the biggest cost savings.

"We don't like shaving, and no matter what you do, we never will. All we want is a razor that will do the job without nicking us, either literally or figuratively"

Speak for yourself mate...I loooove shaving now! :w00t: I've found several Gillette's that do the job perfectly (okay the youngest is nearly as old as me ) so I guess I've found my Holy Grail!
