I just came across this little quote.
The good thing about science is that it had made our current level of life possible -- for instance, we aren't slaving in the fields while dodging predators, dying like flies from dysentery, malaria, tb, and other common diseases, and 30 is no longer considered old.
Although, here in the later thirties is feeling pretty old! 
Wait until you get into your later 60's. You ain't seen nothin' yet.
