Thanks for posting this, I'd been looking for them a while back and couldn't find them!

Can't wait! I have a dozen GDs I bought years ago just to mess around with and never got to them all. So a pile of GDs here and thinking about insane mods no sane person would try on a good blade. Was planning to restore a half dozen W&Bs next week but I'll do GDs instead if the contest starts.

Yes, there was one last year I will dig it out and add it to the list above, As far as this year I think there is going to be one just waiting for it to be confirmed...

I have a suggestion. Officially the contest begins on 01 May, right? And ends 01 July? My suggestion is that the start be opened up so work on the next year's entry can officially begin at any time, even as early as the day after the last comp ended. Potential entrants should be encouraged to start early and especially to source their raw materials early. This year I think the uncertainty of supply and shipping may have discouraged some from competing, but even in a normal year it can take up to a month to get a razor from China.

Also, I suggest that rules related to sales be relaxed to allow sales by any and all, of raw Gold Dollars specifically for the purpose of the contest. With of course a reasonable price cap, maybe around $6/ea plus shipping to prevent gouging. There are I am sure hoarders and sellers who do not have vendor privileges on the forum but would like to help out with getting razors quickly into the hands of wannabe contestants. Could this be done, or would it simply be creating a bigger problem?

If someone had an excess of GD's leading up to the comp, I see no reason they could not sell them through the normal BST section, as long as, as you say, they are not marking them up too much and profiteering.

I like Mr McCoy's suggestion. I am in a situation where it takes at least three months to receive a GD from China. I have one coming now that I ordered in early April. I'll be lucky to receive it in 4 or 5 months after order. I'll be holding that GD razor until the comp next year.

We don't all live in the land of the not so free.

I fear that having the contest open basically all year long would dilute the interest of the thread and the competition, but we will make a note to put a teaser out earlier out next year so everyone can have time to order their razors.

Yep that would be fine as long as the person selling isn't a vendor.
