Greetings. I would greatly appreciate comments from those of you who use or have used these two aftershave preparations. Which one has the more luxurious feel on the face? If forced to pick between the two, which would it be? Thanks very much.
Apples and oranges, I'm afraid. Both are excellent, but VERY different. TGR balm is a milk-like balm. Personally, I find it a bit on the heavy side, but there are others who say it works great for them year round, and absorbs to a nice, matte, silky finish. Its chock full of stuff to help your skin. You might want to sample some if you can, especially if you're thinking of the unscented. Despite reports by some that the unscented has no scent at all, there are those (like myself) with picky noses who not only find it does have a scent, but find the scent to be rather unlikable. I think we're in the minority, but considering the price, you might want to find out for yourself before plunking down the cash on it.
Harris Pink is a mild, low alcohol splash. It is a very simple concoction, consisting of water, alcohol, glycerin, scent and coloring. Some people really like it, whereas others think it is a glorified, overpriced toner. Personally, I love the stuff; in fact, it is my current "go to" aftershave. I find it to be lightly moisturizing without being heavy. It is perfect for summer use, although I can use it most times of the year, save for the ultra dry and cold dead-of-winter months. The light rose scent is very pleasing but not at all strong or lasting. It's less expensive per unit than TGR balm, especially if you buy the 500 ml bottle.
If forced to choose, I would go with the Pink, but I'm sure you'll find just as many, if not more, who would go with TGR.
Edit: Which one has the more luxurious feel on the face? Of course, what one finds "luxurious" is subjective, but I would say TGR (nice, matte, silky finish, as I said); the Pink is more of a "does its thing and goes" sort of thing.
