What do you think Gillette or Schick's next big move will be?
More blades? Less blades? Micro blades? Lasers? Where do we go from here?

Carbon fiber, Titanium, and a computer chip! I also wouldn't rule out a sixth blade!
I love this "new thinner blade" angle. I would imagine it came about in some kind of exchange like this:
Pres: These blades are costing us too much to produce. Our profit margin is now only 999%; I want it back up to 1000%.
R&D: We could make them thinner. Thinner blade = less steel = equals lower production cost.
Pres: I like it. Now, how do we spin this?
Marketing: We tell people that thinner blades tug less. Less tugging = more comfort.
Pres: F-ing brilliant. That means, not only will it cost us less, but we can charge more for it. Two birds with one stone. What about coatings. Can we add more coatings?
R&D: Sorry, boss. We've been touting coatings since the Turbo. I don't think they'll buy it. But I can throw some mineral oil on there. They might buy that.
Pres: Works for me. Make it happen. And make it sound like it's a new razor. I don't want people thinking we're making them pay more for the same old crap we've been foisting on them for the last four years. OK, I'm off to the golf course.
I say they will stay with 5 blades, but make the blades thinner. Oh, and they will incorporate mineral oil in there somewhere also.
The launch includes four new products to use before and after shaving, including a thermal scrub Taub says will mimic the effect of a barber's hot towel. They'll sell for $6.99 to $8.99.
Don't skip the last 'graph: that's where the meat is.
That's P&G at work: this is where they live. "What, you're only selling handles, cartridges, batteries, and gel? We ought to be able to tie at least four other products onto the brand!"
