What's new

The end of Zirh?

That's a real pity. I used their shaving cream every time I shaved for about 6 years. I found it really moisurising and a pleasure to shave with. I know some people don't like creams that don't lather, but if it works for you then I don't think it should be a factor. I still use it from time to time.

Looks like I'll have to stock up

I picked up four 8oz containers for $15.00 each with free shipping over $25.00, here; https://www.detailsformen.com/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=1290

Zirh.com is still there. And you can have a live chat with a support person, which makes it possible to ask Zirh directly about going out of business. Beats second hand information.

Will you tell us tomorrow?

Nah. I'll tell you today because tomorrow was a few days ago.

While on my way to Pastuer Pharmacy in NYC today I happened to pass an AOS shop across the intersection from it. So, I ducked in to look around, being the first time I've been in an AOS place. And I saw the line of Zirh products there, so I asked the lady there if it was just discontinued or if Zirh is going out of business. She said that AOS is just discontinuing the line but Zirh is not going out of business.

Several minutes later I squeezed into Pastuer. (If you have ever been there you'll understand that I am not kidding about squeeze) They have the Zirh line also. So, I asked the gal behind the register if Zirh is going out of business. She has heard nothing about that.

And I'll bet that if someone would use the chat feature at Zirh.com and ask the product support specialist they would get the same answer.

You're asking is enablers if you need an excuse?! Heck, we'll provide valid excuses and sound reasoning to feed whatever AD you got?

Don't tell me they're NOT going out of business now. I just ordered a load of shave cream. Pah.
Regardless of whether Zirh will be around much longer or not, I wonder, with all the conflicting reports going on, if it's better to tell customers that a company's going out of business so people rush to buy while they can, or tell customers the opposite in order to protect the 'brand image.' That is to say, a product can seem weak if the producer is going under. And let's face it, people jump to the conclusion that it's not selling and the product must be inferior.

Interesting to note from previous posts that salespeople in stores aren't the ones the ones relaying the bad news. Would you want to work in a shop and try to shift a line of products from a company that was going out of business by trying the 'come and get it while you can' angle? On the flip side, the on-line site I've just used to buy my cream suggested I buy a few more tubs because they say Zirh won't be around much longer. The truth is out there.

I bought four tubs, at $15.00 apiece it was a good price and when your not shaving with it solo, it's a good pre-shave whether you shower or not before the shave.

Yeah, I ordered some tubs from the site you recommended. They ship to the UK, and their replies to my e-mail enquiries were very prompt. I was impressed. Of course, I'll reserve final judgement till my stuff arrives. But thanks for the link :)

You're welcome, mine arrived quickly & I opened one to check the moisture level, looks like it's new stock, nothing old & leftover

Thank god. Their products suck. The only one I found that was halfway decent was the Vitamin Body Bar. Everything else was awful in my opinion.

I checked Wikipedia.
There is no Zirh page.
Crisis as opportunity.

Hey- that's only syllable away from a haiku!

Last I heard from some savvy SAs was that they were going to try and relaunch Zirh as a "drugstore" level brand...similar to Axe I would think. May, or may not involve cheapening the product.

I see at their website that when you click "Hair and Body" It says "no product avaialble in this category," so looks like the end of my beloved Body Bar.
