What's new

The end of my SBAD.

$End_SBAD.jpg

This is the final burst of my SBAD activity, and I think I'm finished, at least for the near future. From left to right:

1] Rudy Vey - 2-band Finest XH knot at 22/47; the handle is resin impregnated mesquite.
2] Thater 4125/2 - 2-band at 26/47; extremely soft and gentle; a bit more floppy than I expected from a 2-band.
3] Shavemac 23408- 2-band D01 at 24/46; soft but extreme backbone; very unique and could be my new favorite.
4] Simpsons Classic 2 in best badger - great face latherer.
5] Simpsons Chubby 1 in 2-band - also a great face latherer.

I think these brushes encompass a broad spectrum of brush characteristics and should keep me interested and well-lathered for a long time to come. Together with the other brushes in my rotation, I think I'm done. A sense of calm is slowly rising within.

Those look great! My SBAD has been in remission for the last 2 months but I've been happy with 6 brushes. You've got a nice sampler there!

You have a beautiful collection of fine brushes sir, however you got one thing wrong... There is no cure or end for sbad. Sorry...

Very nice collection. I've said that quite a few times myself, that I was finished, but something always seems to come along and get it going again.

I'm just about done too. The 4125/2 - 2-band in black is in my top 5 at #3. After the holidays I may consider selling my 49125/0 3 band and/or Duke 1 to add a Simpson 56 or 57 to compete my top 5.

The more I see collections like this the more surprised I become at how small most Simpsons brushes are in comparison. Not judging, just an observation.
