The Cult of Streamline - Streamline & Jewel owners

FINALLY! A week to 10 days from now, I should be a proud member of the Streamline/Jewel Owner's Association!

I asked the seller not to ship the included Rolls Razor set...I've already got two in better shape that I don't use, and shipping from the UK to the US is a killer. All in all, I think this will clean up nicely. It's got the strop, the stropping handle, the razor, and a Bakelite case (although with a hole). I can always keep my eyes open for a better case.

So you're the one who sniped me! I see how it is.

I received the Streamline set from the UK today. It was nasty, ugly, and dirty, but several soaks in hot water, brisk scrubbing with an old toothbrush, a couple shots of Scrubbing Bubbles, and some heavy-duty work with Q-Tips now have it to the point where I'm willing to put it next to my face! The case still needs some clean-up work, but I didn't buy it for the case!

Except for the chunk knocked out of the Bakelite case, it's actually in awesome condition and I can't wait to try it out tomorrow morning.

Shaved with my new Streamline this morning and found it quite nice. I used a Gem SS blade (2nd shave) and it was very effective. I ended up with a near-BBS shave with very little effort. I just missed a tricky part on my neck that gives me trouble, but I was running late and rushing a bit. There's definitely a different feel to this razor compared to my other SEs (1912s, Micromatics, etc.). I expect my results will be even better once I adjust my technique and learn this razor better. It's definitely a keeper, not just as a collectible, but as a daily shaver. :thumbup1:

Congrats! Glad you like it, you sneaky sniper! Just kiddng man, glad it found good home, and there is another satisfied Streamline user!

Just saw this thread and agree 100% that this is the best SE razor. Not only is it good looking, but it performs great. $Ever Ready Steamline 2.jpg$Ever Ready Steamline.jpg

Da any o' youse guys ... I mean do any members of your exalted fellowship actually use your autostrops to extend the lives of your blades or are they just for looking at?
