The Citizen Eco-Drive Watch

mine tend to live on the corner of the dining room table. We never use it and it's right by a slider door. the indirect light is more than enough to keep everyone charged

I have a model in mind. It's the Orca. It comes in several colors but blue or black would suit me fine. The only place I see selling them is Costco, and they're selection is meager. I wonder, where did all of you get yours? I don't trust Amazon, and eBay sells mostly refurbished models, which is a deal breaker for me.

ATF. I use all three.

I got mine at one of the jewelry stores at a mall in Texas. It was one of the chains, Zales maybe?

Amazon for me. Shipped and sold via Amazon, no issues, original packaging, warranty card (from what I remember).

They are also sold at some large department stores up here, similar to Macy's. Many mid range jewellery stores also carry Citizen.

I've always liked the look of the Orca. If it came in a "no date" option, I'd already own one.

The Citizen diver lume is awesome.

Well, I don't live in the States. But Citizens are not available in my city anyway. Ordered it from Romania.
Thank God for internet shopping. Where would I spend my money anyway?

Check out Chrono24…I bought both of my The Citizen models from the same seller on Chrono24…he’s in Japan and has access to some JDM models not available in the US. The watches were brand new, all plastics in place, both in perfect condition. I did extensive research before purchasing from him but I would 100% buy from this seer again without question. I do not know though if he has the model you are interested in.

The Promaster Eco-Drive is an excellent, worry-free watch. 👍

I believe I purchased the orange dial from First Class Watches out of England, the green dial from Gnomon and finally, both the Pepsi bezel and the “Unite with Blue” Promasters were from Jomashop.

All the original silicone straps were replaced with metal bracelets from Island Watch, which are made specifically for the Promaster series (they sell them for both automatic and Eco Drive models) and I also put a Hybrid Sailcloth/FKM rubber strap (from Strapcode) on the green Promaster.

Ah, you got many Citizens. Now I am starting to think "Should I buy a second Citizen?"

Well, thank you very much!!!

The Eco Drive watches are excellent. For some models you only have to worry about setting the date when necessary. Citizen also have Eco Drives with a perpetual calender, which I find convenient.
Casio offer solar powered watches which are radio controlled, thereby no need to worry about date setting, and also summer/winter time setting. My favourites among the Casio watches is the Lineage models.

I have one. It's an older one from about 15+ years ago and it is still going fine. It seems pretty much trouble free.

It has sort of sentimental value to me as it was my Uncle's watch. It was given to me after he passed away. He had just purchased it relatively recently before he died and he only wore it for good wear so it was like new when I got it.

It is the E101-S031940, I believe. It's a very nice colourway. It's the grey and gold, two tone look with the black dial and roman numerals at 12 and 6, with 50M water resistance.

In my opinion it is a very nice watch. The Eco-Drive function is really good. I'll have owned the watch 15 years this year. I've never had to do anything to it and it's ticking away just fine.

Yes, I would advise leaving in the window somewhere where it gets good light. I'd had mine in the cupboard for a while and I just took it out again at the weekend, I think it needs a good charge up as the day and date function doesn't seem to be adjusting.. maybe not enough charge in it for it. There isn't much light here at the moment, it's pretty dull January but I've it on the windowsill anyways!

Unfortunately, I think my arm has grown since it was last adjusted and I can't find the remaining links. So maybe I'll have to source a new bracelet for it that matches. Ideally I'd have liked to have kept the original one but.. I don't know where I'd go to get a link for it. One link would be perfect as the watch goes on.. it's just too tight. The micro adjustments on the clasp are maxed out also.

For affordable watches I think you can't go wrong with Casio and indeed Citizen. Up the price margin a little bit well there's Seiko and a few others. I've never really paid a lot for watches because, I don't like owning a watch that I'm too afraid to wear. Even with lower priced watches I like to take very good care of them.

Love my Citizen Promaster which replaced my forty year old Rolex Submariner. The Citizen keeps incredible time, one second a month. It’s a tough watch, sapphire crystal, screw down crown, six year warranty, doesn’t scream HANDS UP like the Rolex did, good lume, and won’t have to pay $850 for maintenance or $1250 for a bracelet. This watch is a rockstar.
