the bluebeards revenge shavette

http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Bluebea...athBeauty_BathShowCons_RL&hash=item53f1fd9023

So my wife bought this for my coming home from deployment present and while it looks nice and awesome, I've never heard of them and can find no reviews or videos about them. I've heard from here they are comparable to Parker's but then again the Parker I have I just bought and have no idea how long they last. If any of you guys have tried the bbr shavette or own it, any opinions on it would be most welcomed!

Hey, thank you for your service to your country!

There was just a thread where the poster was quite happy with his Bluebeards' shavette.

From the pics he posted it looks like it will work just as well as a Parker or similar. Just remember to use very light pressure, a flat angle, and NO back and forth sawing/slicing movements in the beginning.

Kent may be referring to me :)
Thanks for your service! Both my sons are in the Army, oldest may be deployed for a 3rd time in March. Youngest is finishing 3rd year at West Point.
Anyway, I started str8 with a Parker, I liked it but the scales fell apart (factory QA I think). ANyway I found the Bluebeard from a Canadian shave site and bought one. It is larger than the Parker, and seems a bit closer to a tradiational str8. I've only had it for a couple of weeks, but as far as a shavette, I really like it. I think for a cheapo shavette it is better than the Parker. It seems to be a UK brand, and another B&B user said it is a knockoff of another UK brand.
Enjoy, and keep us posted of your experience with it, I am interested to hear what someone else has to say...
regards,
Bil

Oh, and when I bought mine I also got the Bluebeard pre-shave, shave cream, and post balm, I wish I had gotten the aftershave, but it wasn't offered on the Canadian site.

That's great to hear! I'm a utilitarian at heart but if it shaves well, lasts awhile, and has pirate skulls on it for $30 I'll take that!

I have one as well and like it plenty. It is a re-branded version of some other shavette, I'm pretty sure. BBR doesn't produce any of their own hardware. The DE they sell is I think a re-branded EJ, like a DE89, maybe?

The BBR "shavette" is a rebranded Sanguine (1st Gen) razor. The are still available on eBay from time to time pretty cheap. The only difference is the scale colors. The Sanguine was available in Black, Gray, Yellow, and Green. Future versions of the Sanguine razors (X-D20, CoolCut 2, 2t & 4, and CoolBlades R1 & R2) have different scales options.

I've never used the BBR shavette, but as for the Parker's, I've had mine for almost 4 years and they are still in perfect condition.
