The Big Three Japanese SR makers

I have seen some references to the "big three" Japanese straight razor makers
in the past (I forget the source, maybe Fakira or Jim Rion). I assume that two
were Iwasaki and Tanifuji. Who is the third: Kamijo? Hayashi? Someone else?
Does anyone have a reliable source?

In my book, Tanifuji and Iwasaki are definitely locks. The third one is tricky...in terms of reputation and quality, I would go with Kamijo. However, Hayashi and Kikuboshi were more prolific with a high level of quality. AFAIK Saito was a master barber/designer of blades but not an artisan. Saito razors came out of Hayashi or Kikuboshi workshops.

Drop some photos please. Indeed Saito made the desing while Kikuboshi, Ribon and Diamond Hayashi, and even some others.

Saito and Ribbon razors were manufactured for R. Saito and his barber students. They were made by H. Diamond, Tanifuji and possibly kikuboshi. Saito did not make razors; he was a famous barber. Here is a ribbon Rosette made for R. Saito, likely by H. Diamond. I have this one and it shaves like a dream! Saito strived for designs that were easy for his new students to use.
