Dammit. I remember National Broderick Crawford Day, but forget Guy almost every year.
 
Still goes off with a bang here in New Zealand (but it's a minor affair compared to what it was like growing up here in the 1970s when come the evening of the 5th November, the suburbs went off like a war zone).

We used to light big bonfires down by the water when I was growing up in Newfoundland. I'd be arrested if I tried that here around Toronto.

A large bonfire is always fun (me like fire :) ) but it seems to have slipped away a bit here as well.
Maybe that's because it's not a city thing, with some good reasoning. The fire brigade is kept busy enough with just the fireworks.
