What's new

That's what we've been trying to tell you Mrs.

A few days ago, I bought about a dozen razors from a gentleman and I had them all lined up on a desk evaluating (needs plating, doesn't need plating) etc.

There was a set of three Gillette Lady amongst the haul, one blue, one yellow (gold) and one pink.

Now Mrs Onotoman seldom takes much interest in this sort of thing, but she spotted the pink lady gillette and asked if it could be used for leg shaving etc - of course, says I, that's what it's made for, give it a try.

She was a bit apprehensive at first - proper blade and all, but she tried it over the weekend and yesterday said 'Wow, I've never had such a close shave from my Queen Of Shaves, or any other razor I've had' -

'That's what I've been trying to tell you for years, but you'd rather believe the advertising hype from' etc...

It must have been the pink colour that did the trick.

Needless to say, she's keeping it.

Pink always catches their eye.

I have to keep my pink razors well hidden if I want to continue using them

it was a gold(champagne) that got me started away from the cartridge razors. I found a pristine model in an antique store for $10. Since then I have built up a few sets of four Lady Gillettes for the ladies in the family.

That is too funny. The pink always gets them. Same with my wife. Congrats.

Good show Dave. Once I completed my "set" of three my wife also took notice, forcing me to buy some "users" for her not for display.
I will warn you tho' - keep an eye on your brushes, I keep finding little gaps in my rows of them on display :biggrin1:

Haha, she already uses by brushes - nothing worse than picking up a damp brush in the morning :)

Dave, get ready to work over time to cover her RAD. Good thing you bought your Rhodium plating system last year, your gonna need it to make more $$$$$.
1st the pink one, then the slant one, then the Fatboy, then the Slim, then your broke:001_huh:........

Since I started the DE shaving a few weeks ago, my wife has been intrigued and impressed with the results. So much so, that after I bought a Slim off ebay last night, she asked if she could try shaving her legs with my EJ DE89. I told her I'd do her one better and get her a Lady Gillette. She's intrigued enough to consider it. Now, I'm a researcher, and she's not so much, so it will be up to me to explain what she needs to do. The question is, do the Lady's use shave soap (same shave soap as me?) and a brush for their legs? Mix up a big cup-o-lather and do a wtg then atg? So, to the OP, others who know, and the lady's on this forum, how's it done?

I am male but from what I have read on here a brush and puck/tube of cream is appropriate for a woman's legs. Just make sure you tell her no pressure or her legs will have shaving burn just like a man's face. It would also be appropriate for her to try to shave with a DE for the first time on a Saturday (if she works outside the home). SWMNBO should be happy once she makes the switch, Lady's Mach 3's are very expensive too.

Hi Alex,

Well, I actually had to replate the 'Pink Lady' Head in Rhodium anyway - Mrs is allergic to Nickel so to be on the safe side I gave it a coat. Didn't want to be blamed for causing any skin irritation. I may irritate her in other ways sometimes, but...

The ladies just can't let us have our own hobbies can they - they just have to be part of everything. But, if she's happy and paying a lot less for blades, then all is well.

Unfortunately I bought her one of those No!No! hair removal machines for Christmas, the cost of that would have bought me an Aristocrat.

Well it really is simple. This has become HER idea, therefore you win by default. Other paths of irritation may or may not be mitigated as easily as you can in plating the razor.

Now you must find her a customized pink brush so that she will quit making yours a soppy mop! You must work to make it HER idea! :thumbup1:
