Yes sir, I'm active duty Air Force.

I tried the open comb tonight, it's very different from my 40s Super Speed and DE89L. The feel of the comb itself as well as all that blade being exposed, its quite a bit more aggresive than I am used to. But I got a great shave, a little burn due to unfamiliarity, but great shave. Used Proraso and a Red Personna.

Used the Cade with my DE89L/Red Personna blade tonight. I haven't had much luck with soaps in the past, but this lathered right up for me. Very good, irritation free shave.

A3MON,
If you haven't had much luck with soaps, one of the tricks that helps with the loading is put hot water on your puck for the same time as you soak your brush. Pour the water off (some people pour it into a separate bowl or scuttle for dipping the tips of the brush later in the shave) and then load the brush.

I was strictly a creams guy for years, even before joining this site, and now all I have is soaps with the exception of Proraso Red (my travel cream) and a lonely neglected tube of T&H 1805 which I cannot let go for some reason.

Thanks oakeshott. I tried the open comb again tonight, with the T&H preshave oil and cade soap. It went very well, went very light - no pressure at all. The only issue I had was under my nose got a little rough, but a great shave with no burn or irritation.
