What's new

Thanks Amazon

A few weeks back I got loads advice regarding 'Which Kent for a Face Latherer' And I went with a H8 from Amazon. The price was brilliant and I went with the free postage option. Now the listing said delivery in two to four weeks. I though what the hell I have a few new razors to play with at the moment. Anyhow a few days back Amazon sent me an E-mail to tell me delivery wouldnt be untill the end of June, thats almost 5 weeks away. I wasnt too happy so I asked why this was and could they deliver any faster if I was to pay.

Here's the reply

"Hello,

From your email,I understand that you want this order# *********** as soon as possible.

As you are a valuable customer for as, with the one time exception I've upgrade the shipping method for this item"Kent Shaving Brush Medium".I can confirm you there ino extra cost is charged.

After upgrading the shipping method ,I've confirm that your order# *************will receive on Wednesday, 29 May 2013 - Friday, 7 June 2013to the following address: "

So after asking they can deliver quicker than the original deleivery date at no extra cost, how does that work??

Anyhow the lesson learnt is you get nothing with out asking. And a BIG thanks to Amazon.

I feel like the time you're getting it now should have been the amount of time in the first place. 5 weeks away plus the time you had already waited. What were they originally doing? Walking it to you?

Great!

I wish Casswell-Massey had better customer service
Really? What happened with you? Because I had a great customer service experience with them. I ordered the Number Six Cologne and got a box of 3 bath soaps instead (don't know how that even happened) but 1 quick email is all it took. They shipped a cologne right out to me and let me keep the soap sent in error.

There doesn't seem to be much on the H8, definitely looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Indeed!:001_tt1:

I had and used a Kent T8 for over 13 years. Beautiful tortoishell. I'm thinking of having it reknotted.

That brush isn't fulfilled by Amazon. They must have thumped the seller on the head to get it delivered.

i got the h12 when it was on a special deal on amazon, £29 with free delivery, its a monster, you could shave a gorilla with this thing and still have enough lather for a few more passes.$razor 2 050.jpg

I was up for the H12 as I found one at a superbly cheapprice. How ever after reading a little I decided to go with the H8. I was after something with just a tadd more back bone than the regular series and reckon this could be the one.

the h12 is a bit on the large side to be honest, like a mop on the face, but at £29 delivered i could not pass it up.

If you ordered their cream, it might be simply that they are out. I had an excellent shave today from a local barbershop (see my review here). They use Caswell-Massey cream. But the owner said they simply can't get it from the company, so they may have to switch to a different product.

Of course, if you have ordered it and they haven't contacted you to tell you they are out of stock, that is inexcusable, IMO.

AT that price it would have been rude not to buy it. The H8 wasnt that cheap but was about half the price that Kent charge.

the funny thing is, itwas listed asa t12 but they sent the h12 instead, i liked the look of the h12 and just kept it, knowing my luck if i sent it back it would have jumped up to £80 or something.

Well how a few days can change things. Today an E-mail arrived from Amazon explaining that they can no longer guarantee the delivery date of my bargin Kent H8 brush :confused1. After a long and often convaluted phone call, I've cancelled the order and gone straight to kent and bought one from them. It should be here in the next few days. Anyhow back to Amazon, they weres aying the item is 'out of stock' and they are unable to say when it'll be back 'in stock', but it would be at least two more weeks onto my delivery date. I however explained to them that when I ordered it wasnt out of stock as I printed the home page off and it quite clearly stated 'IN STOCK'. So after quite a groverling set of "we're sorry" I accepted to cancel my order and have an MP3 down load for free instead.

When life gives you lemons, make limoncello. At least you are getting what you want. But I agree, that kind of sucks.

this.

if anybody has slow shipping time or poor communications from an amazon vendor just send an email to amazon. they DO take customer satisfaction seriously, and will drop a bad vendor fast.

Moral of the story: support a Badger & Blade vendor next time you order :001_smile

I found a couple here in the UK who are on B&B but two didnt carry Kent and the other was alittle more expensive than Kent themselves. As for Amazon, they were the vendor but not the supplier. Oh well I've sold some stuff on E-bay and thats paid for it :biggrin1:
