I believe it to be a 24mm Shavemac silvertip, I am already dreaming up a handle for a 26mm knot.

What kind of wood is that? Nice! Congrats, enjoy and use it in good health.

The wood used is mesquite. I really am pleased with the way this wood looks and the brush feels great in the hand. I have been a Simpson brush guy since the beginning with only one Thater to see what the soft talk was all about. I have had this brush for only a couple of hours and honestly I have not been this impressed with any of my others.... not to say Simpson is not of the best quality, its just the wood and the one off character of this piece.

At the risk of embarassing Rudy, he does just extraodinary work. I have not seen a brush of his that I didn't want. Maybe soon I will see about getting a custom made brush from Rudy with a Shavemac knot. Every piece he made for you is gorgeous. And another big plus with Rudy is, like me, he keeps weiner dogs.
