I am wanting to try out the Muhle Silvertip Fibre, but saw that TGN has a synthetic knot as well. So my question is, does anyone have both and care to comment on which one is better and if so why? Thanks

I have had both and the money the Muhles cost over the cost of the TGN knot (FS Brush etc) isn't worth the extra performance. I have 2 TGN Knots (one FS and one in a BurmaShave brush) and no Muhles. I sold all my Muhle brushes and kept the TGN's. Muhle brushes perform well and are better than the TGN's, but just hope and pray that you don't have a problem with one of them. Muhle's customer service is horrid.
i have a Frank Shaving 24mm synthetic and it is an amazing brush. For $20 shipped, it is quite hard to be this brush compared to the $70, on average, for the Muhle. Having stated this, Muhle's brushes are very, very nice and better quality, so it depends on you. Good luck.
Could you elaborate on the differences? (Not the OP, but interested...)
Muhle makes some good brushes. In fact the 25 mm synthetic is tied with the H.I.S. brush as my favorite. The FS / TGN though not quite as good as the Muhles but is an excellent performer and is a true value.
P.S. Dave should know about the performance. The Burma Shave/TGN Synthetic is one that I made for myself and he bought from me later.
