TGN order trouble

I'm not enjoying my first experience with TGN.

I've ordered a 26mm Finest and was sent a 32mm. I called them and was politely appologized to and told that they'd send me a 26mm in the mail immediately with some money to send the other one back. I just received the replacement and it is measuring 30mm(edit: actually it appears to be the same size at the first one..). I guess I'll attempt to file the knot down to size?

Has anyone had this happen?

My brush handle is solid brass and the opening is 28mm. So, I ordered 26mm, the same exact size as the knot I took out. Therefore, a 32mm knot will not work. I can't shave down the brass.

No, all of my knots were pretty close. They have a solid reputation, I am sure they will make it right.


I am sure you know, but for the edification of others, if the brush handle opening is 26mm, a 26mm knot will won't work, you will need to order a 24mm knot.

10 knots, all have been pretty spot-on.

Well, I am probably in the wrong here considering TGN sends out many knots all the time. I am working it out now. My measurement stick was made in China.. looking for other measuring methods now.. to the store I must go..

Yes, good move. I don't think they even sell a 32mm knot, so I would first check to make sure you have a servicable caliper.

How about sending them your handle and asking them to provide an exact fit knot?

Wow, I have purchased many knots from Tony and all have been on the money. I am sure if they are wrong, he will make it right. His customer service has been superb.

Tony, or whomever measured the knot, was not wrong. My tool was wrong and I now how it settled! Pays to have good tools!
