TGN Brush knots and handles to the UK

I have been bowled over by the TGN website, so many beautiful knots, its like an alladins cave...

Have other UK users bought them and if so what kind of customs charges do you get? Are they as massive a bargain as they look?

Any comments about these would be much appreciated, before I sell my mother to fund the habit!

I cant speak to the import cost, but you have to spend a lot more money to find a better knot. They are out there for sure, but not at the (retail) price.

Hello Patrick, I too live in the U.K.

I have bought TGN's knots from Anthony / Vanessa Turchetta. fantastic service and a pleasure to deal with, my last knot was a 16mm Finest 15th September and arrived on the 21st September. Now that's fast !!!.

No problems with custom's or duty, Vat, nor Royal Mail International handling fee. As Anthony @ TGN states on the Jiffy Bag ( Customs Declaration CN22 ) under descriptions of contents: "shave sample" value $1 dollar.

Since April 2012 our U.K Goverment HMRC has imposed a raft of duties (look on the HMRC Website) In June this year I bought a shaving item from the USA at a cost of $90 dollars. When it arrived in the U.K, before they would release this I had to pay a further Custom Import duty, Vat, and the Royal Mail International handling fee. Which came to an additional £19.70p. I Was not a happy bunny.

Great stuff, I am very keen on the 24mm Silvertip with short loft, I have a kind of Chubby style brush in mind, so I will update the post with the results.. I just need to learn how to fit a knot into a handle now!
