I know it's not supposed to be very vanilla like, but I'm curious. Is it similar to any other Clubman scent? Is it dark and rough like Special Reserve, more of a fougere? I've heard it's quite citrusy. When I think citrus, I think Florida Water.
I just bought a bottle of it today, and I'm lovin it. I pretty much agree with mblakle in that its like regular clubman but toned down a bit. I think it's what i had envisioned clubman smelling like before i tried it, powdery with some smooth hints of manliness that I can't quite put my finger on, maybe it is indeed musk or something like it.
Interesting. I look forward to receiving my bottle; I think I may like it a bit more as I find regular Clubman to be a bit too strong for me most days.
I was hoping for...vanilla, which I think of as a "soft" sort of flavor. Instead it has a sharp, high note that is more citrus-like than anything. I must have smelled it a hundred times, thinking that today might be the day, but I have not used it for a long, long time. The other Pinaud scents have been wonderful (hey, I like the Veg, so I am not closed-minded), but this one is just not for me. It smells artificial and peculiar.
I would also note that it does not share much with the original Clubman, at least not to my nose.
It is my favorite of the Clubman scents. It has quite a burn as well(a good thing in my book) but after it subsides, the scent stays around much longer than the original Clubman. Not a true Vanilla fragrance as others have mentioned but worth trying for the price.
