TECH Tuesday

I finaly got my hand on a Gillette fat handle Tech, I received it last week(last Friday) and since then i still shave whit it. There’s no date code on it so I suspect that it was made late 30’s mid 40’s. The shaves I got from it are just wonderful, I will shave whit it for at least another 5 day’s just to enjoy it good.

I can’t believe I didn’t know about this thread! I’ve been DE shaving for 2 months now, and my only razor is a fat handle prewar Tech.

I know it’s not a Tuesday, but here’s my shave from last night:

Tech Tuesday!

Fat-handle triangle-slot Tech
Personna Lab Blue (1)
Razorock Blue Barbershop soap
Pinaud Virgin Island Bay Rum AS

Very close and comfortable shave!

Tech Tuesday shave:

- Canadian Pre-war Fat-handled Tech
- Astra SP (6th shave)
- DRH Arlington soap
- Omega 10005 Boar brush
- Thayer’s Rose Petal
- Nivea Sensitive Skin AS Balm

Really nice shave this evening! 3 passes plus a touch up pass (seems to be what my Tech requires for a nice close shave).

Tech Tuesday!

Fat-handle triangle-slot Tech
Personna Lab Blue (7)
Razorock Blue Barbershop soap
Neutrogena sensitive balm

I'm amazed that 10 hours after shaving with this razor and a week old blade there is very little stubble!

Canadian Pre-war Fat-handle Tech
Personna Blade (2)
TBS Maca Root & Aloe
24 mm SynBad
Mennen Skin Bracer
What a coincidence, we have the exact same Tech!

My Tech Tuesday was as follows:

Canadian Prewar Fat handle Tech
Astra SP (6)
Omega Boar brush
Nivea Sentitive Shave Cream
Thayer’s Rose
Nivea Sensitive ASB

This evening’s shave was really nice. Two passes plus extensive clean-up, but i came out of it near-BBS with hardly any irritation! I’ve been really working on my technique, and it feels like it is paying off...

Happy Tech Tuesday, everyone!

Tech Tuesday? What a co-inkydink....
Not sure what you would call the blade I used. The package looks like this:

It's the first Personna blade that I've ever tried.
Those look like what are referred to as Personna barber blades. They were probably made in Israel or the US. Most people consider them to be a little rougher than the "lab blues" or bulk Israeli Personnas.

That sounds about right. I got them at a "Sally Beauty" store, which ostensibly caters to pro salon operators.
The packages sez "Made in USA, assembled in Mexico".
That's what I'll call them - "Personna barber blades".

And again, for Tues Techday:
Canadian Pre-war Fat-handle Tech
Personna Barber Blade (9)
First Canadian Barbershop Taper Fade soap (original formula)
24 mm SynBad
Pinaud Clubman

Tech Tuesday:

Pre-war Canadian Fat handle
Astra SP (6)
Omega 10005 Boar
Nivea Sensitive shave cream
Thayer’s Rose Petal
Nivea Sensitive balm

3 passes plus light touch ups gave me a near bbs shave and no irritation! A very enjoyable shave tonight.

Tech Tuesday!

Pulled out the old ball-end Tech the other day. Paired with a Personna "Lab" Blue blade its been giving me awesome shaves! Now on day 3 with that blade. It took me a while to warm up to this razor but its a gem!

My first use of my new gold plated post-war fat handle just happens to be on a Tuesday.
Just bought this from Back Roads Gold Etsy store. 24K gold plated.

Astra SP blade (3rd use)
Captain's Choice Venture soap (sample)
Maggard's 24mm marble handle synth brush
Witch hazel followed by Aqua Velva 5 in 1 balm.

Very smooth shave.
