tea oil

whats the best way to get it off your teaware? its rather tenacious whats your methods to clean teaware (gaiwans cups) if they get stained?

Ah, bleach. Reminds me of the time my aunt put bleach into my uncle's favorite milk glass tea cup to get the stains out. It turned BLUE! When he saw it, "Who poisoned my cup?" could be heard booming through the house.

Er... the blue that I was referring to was the bleach that was put into the badly tea stained cup.

I place four or five heaping tablespoons of dishwashing machine detergent (such as Cascade) in the stoppered sink and run very warm water until the sink is about two-thirds full. Then I gently lower my glass and heavily glazed teaware into the solution, taking great pains to set each piece carefully and oh-so-gently on the bottom of the sink. I wait about two hours and then just as gently lift each piece out, rinsing it in the adjacent sink. I place the pieces on folded towels to dry. Every piece sparkles and the sink sparkles too. I have not found a better method. Hope this helps. ~grasshopper [drinking Qun Ti Dancong from Jing Teashop]
