Taylors creams

hi i have just bought some taylors rose and almond creams from ebay and they seem quite hard compared to the avacado cream i purchased a few weeks ago.
the avacado cream i can dip brush in and get cream on but not the other 2. they both lather up really good . these are the only creams i have bought and not sure if they are meant to be like that. i know a lot of people use these creams on this site so any ideas
cheers

I have a tub of TOBS rose and a tub of TOBS sandalwood. The rose is softer. Don't know why. They both lather up wonderfully well.

The Taylor creams I have purchased recently are more dense than the ones I had from a couple of years ago. They're not so dense though that I cannnot load my brush as I did with the older creams. If you cannot load the cream directly on the brush it makes me wonder if they are older creams that need to be rehydrated. Can you try mixing it up a bit and see if that helps. If that doesn't work you can add a teaspoon of water to it and see what happens. Since you apparently did not buy from a vendor, you may very well have gotten some older creams that have been sitting around for awhile.

i bought 4 tubs at once, they all had a different consistancy - made no difference to the lather though

As I understand it the avocado is a different mix than the other scents however, I have a tub of TOBS almond and Eton college and both are soft in consistancy.

The cream is easily lifted out of the tub with a badger bresh.

Now I have the opposite problem, my avocado is is harder than my Lavender and I bought them both from classicshaving.com. Meaning...yes, it's probably a batch problem. I'm on my second lavender and the other one I had was a little more dense.

different strokes for different folks, i would agree that one is hydrated more, as long as you can load your brush you are set

Had the same, mmm, situation with Taylor. It worked well anyway!

I`ve only ever bought the Taylors almond cream and from batch to batch it has always been soft, smelt fantastic, lasted forever and really delivered the goods lather wise. Stephen.

I have a tub of avacado and one of rose. The avacado is much softer, also the tubs themselves are different. The avacado has the Taylors name molded on the tub just below the screw for the lid, the rose is a plainer tub and I assume older. I don't know when they changed the containers but if anyone knows it might give an indication of how long ago peoples tubs left the factory.

hi i just added a couple of teaspoons of water and mixed up, nice and creamy now and gives a great lather. judging by the packaging they are old stock . only paid £4.75 each for them so dont mind
