Taylor of Old Bond Street Herbal Pre-shave Gel

I tried this for the first time today. I don't like greasy pre-shave oils. This is not greasy at all but it is really expensive. The jar is tiny.

I agree. It is a good pre-shave but it is way overpriced.
Feather makes a product called Nanka. It is sold as a shaving gel, meaning it is designed to be used alone while shaving.
I have found that for me, it is totally inadequate as a stand-alone shaving gel, but it makes a great pre-shave.
Lubes up your face and whiskers, is not greasy or oily at all and makes a reaaly close comfortable shave possible.
Best of all, it is pretty economical. It's about 30.00 for a 500ml pump bottle at WCS , better yet you can get refills for it even cheaper.
Their aftershave gel is nice too.

If i were you, i would stop buying pre-shave oils and products and get a good soap and use that for your preshave routine, massaging it in after face-lathering. Works brilliantly and saves you money.
Good luck.

yup, celestino is right. A good lather is all you really need. The only time I used any pre-shave treatment was in my first few weeks with the straight.
I needed all the help I could get. Even if it was mostly psychological.

Did i read that right? You soap up after facelathering? So it mixes with your shaving soap/cream?

After my shower I apply pre-shave first thing while I am preparing lather, etc. I feel it extends the softening process but is not really a big deal for sure.
