Talk to me about Osage Rub

I got some of this stuff a while ago and just used it today for the first time.

First impressions:
Smelled like Vicks Vapor Rub and Halls Cough Drops mixed together in liquid form. It took my breath away when I put it on my face, and when the burn subsided and the cooling effect took over, it literally had me wandering around my bedroom for several minutes trying to figure out just what the heck I needed to do next... My face now feels incredible, but I'm not sure if I love it or if I'm terrified of it:confused1

Thoughts?

I love the stuff - just ordered two more bottles (for the Shavepocalypse, y'know?) -

as you were wandering around... were your eyes watering?

If your eyes weren't watering, you didn't use enough.

I mix the stuff with other splashes...

I really love the stuff....

Remember - your eyes have to water.

Yes, they did. Tears didn't flow or anything, but my vision went blurry. It was the oddest shaving moment to date... :bored:

...use more.

hahahhahahah - great stuff, isn't it?

Jon

I'm not sure if it is or not. The scent was terrible (vick's vapor rub and halls cough drops), the sensations were not pleasant at all, but the end result was pretty darn good... Is 1 for 3 good enough:confused1

This is how I feel about "The Rub". The first time I used it I really felt drunk or high or something for a few moments after the initial application. The other odd side effect I experience was a numbness sensation in my hands for roughly 15 minutes after application. Unfortunately, it is a bit too drying for my skin so I can't really use it all that often. I'm more of a casual user rather than a hardcore addict :tongue_sm

I'm glad that I'm not the only one to react that way.

haven't tried it yet, no where local sells it, and I'm a bit reserved about purchasing some items where no tactile engagement can take place prior to purchase (my brain hurts now...)

I do love the hand-numbing....

Pretty awesome product, isn't it?

Really - I ordered more because I don't want to be caught short when it's taken out of production by the FDA or something.

I have this picture of the Osage Rub Production Facility (a dark castle on a remote mountain top in Eastern Europe) under siege by villagers carrying torches and axes and scythes (oh my!)...

Get it while it's dangerous, gentlemen.

(yes... never show fear to your AS splash.)

.

awesome, but since my last post, I've been to Amazon and I'm seeing osage rub by two brand names, Jeris and Clubman...ummmm........?

I have the Jeris.

If you're gonna go mail order, I'd suggest Atlanta Barber Supply. $4.50 a bottle (plus shipping). To make the shipping worthwhile, you could order some Pinaud and Master products.

You could get the competing versions of Lilac Vegetol (-al) for instance....

That's a mistake I think. The one that I just clicked on that said "Clubman Jeris Osage Rub" is the same as the Jeris. I guess Clubman could have taken over Jeris, but I don't think so. :confused1

I love that stuff. On my face after a shave. Into my hair after a crewcut. On my neck after a trim. Amazing. It wakes me up when I'm tired. It keeps bugs away in the summer. It really is fantastic.

Dont show it fear.

Next time we meet up, remind me to bring it with me. It's cheap enough to justify getting it without use though, IMO. $7 plus shipping

"The Classic Invigorating Splash. Apply Briskly for that all over menthol tingle."

I guess they're not kidding around when they say, "All over."
