I've been shaving with a due for 2 years and today (with the added input from everyone here) I purchased the "sight unseen" razor and "poor man's" strope kit from whippeddog. Thanks for the assistance. Wish me luck

Good luck and welcome to B&B. You will find an enormous amount of information on the site. You will also find this group,of gentleman very welcoming and willing to answer all the questions that a newbie as yourself might have. I am starting with straights as well. I was using safety razors for a few months and got to where I'm very comfortable in the caliber shave I can get with a DE. Since finding my comfort zone, I have now branched off onto straights. I'm sure I'll have many of the same questions you will have in regards to straight razor shaving. Please do help yourself to the endless information at this site and again, welcome to B&B.

I'm only partway in my journey with straights, but I've come far enough to say for sure that once you start to get dialed in with them, they become an even better experience. Good luck!
