Taccia Momenta

My Taccia Momenta arrived today. I stumbled across it searching for another pen online, and it was a total impulse buy. I really liked the color and design, and I wanted a nice pen with a broad nib. This company should get more press than they do if my pen's a typical example. The Momenta is a fairly large pen with good weight. The grip is very comfortable to hold. It has the sort of stop(?) you see on a lot of vintage pens, which keeps the pen from trying to slide up into your hand. The cap and barrel have pretty thick walls, which gives it a nice solid feel without being overly heavy. The threads are cut perfectly, so all the parts screw together securely.

The broad nib on mine is buttery smooth and lays down a nice wet line. This pen's a keeper. Mine is the Rose/Merlot color. The Momenta seems to be on sale most places that carry it. I bought mine used but "in mint condition," and it arrived from Peyton Street Pens as described and nicely packaged. The Premier is another gorgeous Taccia pen that's worth a look.

The pen seems to have just a little trouble keeping up on the down stroke for capital T's and I's. Other than that, I'm really enjoying this pen. It may need some more cleaning, as it arrived with dried purple ink in the nib. Although, I thought I got all of that out. Anyway, it's not a big enough problem for me to worry about until I finish what's currently in the converter.

Looks great! I may have to try that ink out too!

Thanks. I'm really happy with the three Noodler's inks I just purchased. They all exhibit tons of shading, especially Apache Sunrise. Turquoise and Black Swan in Australian Roses are perhaps a little more practical, but Apache Sunrise is definitely rich enough to read easily, since it's mostly orange.

I really like the lines/shape of the pen. It looks very nice.
The colour of the body is deep too.

I've never looked at the Taccia pens.

Nice!

I can envision Montgrappa Bordeaux ink in it.
