Not worth it.
Tried two blades in my Mulcuto, Shark Platinum and Astra Stainless.
One word for both: uncomfortable.
Leathered Tallowed Tabac in a bowl.
That was about the only nice aspect of this shave.

I was not aware there was a modern one.
This one is a 'white bakelite' 1935 humpback slant.

This is slightly off topic. But here's a head's up.

I ordered Tabac in the glass bowl, first time I've tried it, a couple of months ago from an Amazon seller called acrossthepond.

I was delighted to find it was the tallow version. And I loved it (and still do). So I ordered a refill puck from them. I was delighted to find it was the tallow version. So I ordered another puck from them. I was delighted to find...etc.

So now I have the original glass bowl, still very much in use, including today. (Every other day, alternating with Cella red.) And a nice little stockpile of three tallow Tabac refills.

So if you want to try your luck, you may want to buy from this UK Amazon seller acrossthepond. I guess the name indicates that they're set up to sell to North America. Free shipping if you have Amazon Prime. Of course I can't guarantee anything. But I've been lucky four times.

My theory, based on absolutely no information, is it could somehow be Brexit related. Maybe they have a pre-Brexit supply of old Tabac they're getting rid of. Whatever, I'm set for several years with tallow Tabac.

First go with this newly acquired razor. Pretty mild but got a decent result after two passes plus some touch ups.

Tabactober shave number 7 today. Still with Tallow Tabac and my Merkur 34C and a Gillette Silver Blue blade on shave number five. Another pretty good shave today. The GSB is holding out okay and I should get my usual seven shaves out of a blade.

The results of the shave were good. The conditions under which can be further improved. The blade felt harsh in the NEW Flat Bottom, but I have not dismissed it yet because although the lather was nice it was not as good as the days before. Which is totally on me and not the soap (even then Tabac performs). I think I just underloaded the brush. So I am using the blade in the NEW LC tomorrow and make sure I have a better lather to assess the actual condition of the blade.
