TABAC (Soap + Cream)

Hi guys i'm pretty new to wet shaving,

I just got my TABAC shaving soap in it's container as well as TABAC shaving cream which comes in a tube (not a tub).
I like to face lather TABAC shaving soap but have read somewhere that using a combo of both the soap AND the cream together creates some amazing lather!

My question is, how to lather the shaving cream WITH the soap on my face? Am I supposed to cover my face in the cream first and then build lather from the soap on my face afterwards? Or should i squeeze some of the cream onto the loaded brush?

I can't imagine ever wanting for better lather than Tabac soap provides on its own, however if you wish to try for double trouble, you could always add a small amount of cream to your brush after loading it with soap or even dab a little cream on your cheeks before starting to lather up.

Good answer by djh, and to answer his question, I mainly like to combo these to intensify the scent and think the Cream is underrated when used on it's own.

When I mix them together I bowl lather. YMMV

When I do a superlather I work a small amount of cream into my beard with my fingertips and then face lather as usual with the soap. It would be less messy to squeeze out some cream onto the loaded brush but either way will work.

If I am mixing soap and cream, I mix in a bowl. Its easier to control the lather when it explodes. I couldn't imagine face lathering cream and soap on my face. Too much lather.

+1 to bowl lathering the combo.
I think the Tabac cream is great stuff, I like the scent better than the soap. The cream doesn't get as much love as the soap though.
