Tabac Original is a harmonious triad of spicy, peppery accents, exotic precious woods and aldehyde-based notes rounded off by a flowery complex. The result: classic, masculine elegance that has a subtly different nuance for each individual scented product in the range.

Oh that sounds nice.

Launched by the design house of Maurer & Wirtz in 1959, TABAC ORIGINAL is a Men's fragrance that possesses a blend of lavender, citrus, and warm florals. It is recommended for casual wear.

That sounds like something I wouldn't buy.

I'd say it smells more like the latter. I don't use it for the scent.

Michael G hit the nail on the head.

The way some people describe the scent makes no sense to me. All I get off it is flowery hotel soap.

Oh dear. One of those things.

Everyone experiences the upgrade differently. </futurama>

It reminds you of tobacco, if you squint and think sideways about a sweet scented pipe tobacco.
It does not smell like leaf tobacco or burning tobacco.
It is slightly reminiscent of a flowery scent (though I am at a complete loss to identify which one it might be), but it is a bit more earthy than that.
Definitely woody undertones.
I think that anyone who likes the smell of Tabac, would probably like Pinaud Lilac Vegetal (after dry-down).

That may be it. I have never been anywhere near pipe tobacco. I know the smell of green tobacco, rolling tobacco, and various cigarettes.

I am pretty sure it is tobacco, People always think of how stinky cigarettes are, but a fine high quality leaf is awesome. Way better then most think. Those smells describe an unlit cigar. Sounds like a heavenly scent to me

..... hard to define. I used the soap for the first time this morning and it was a good experience, although the scent didn't hang around too long.

yes the scent is fleeting unfortunately. Its very powerfull when you first unwrap it but then it goes away.

+1. They didn't call the stuff Tabac for no reason.

Does the soap smell anything like the EDT? If so, I MUST acquire some. Tabac edt is probably one of the best 'bang for the buck' buys out there, as far as frags go, in my opinion. It has great longevity and sillage on me and I love the smell.

Notes of citrus, aldehydes, lavender, florals (carnation?), a base of musk, sandalwood, hint of vanilla, and definitely accented with tobacco. I'm sure there's some other 'stuff' mixed in there as well.

+2 on h2oman's post... and like Mark said, "They didn't call the stuff Tabac for no reason."

IMO this is a quintessential barber shop fragrance!

+1 good description, I get more floral than tobacco.

Having read all the posts on the subject, i saw some Tabac deodorant in a shop, so out of curiosity i sprayed some in the cap and took a sniff - i was not impressed at all.

That was a couple of weeks ago, but earlier today in another shop my wife spotted it (she was buying Nivea goo) and she asked did it smell of tobacco? I sprayed some on the back of my hand to demonstrate, but here's the funny thing - i liked it and so did she. In fact as it wore on through the day it became more subtle and....... i think i might REALLY REALLY LIKE IT!
