I'm just curious, I have a sample of Tabac aftershave from that great gift I got and I love it! The dry down is spectacular. I was just wondering, the cologne being quite a bit cheaper, it seems like it'd be a good buy. Is it the same as the aftershave? I LOVE this scent and if I must I will pay more for the aftershave!

All I know, that dry down blows my mind. It's just perfect. I have been unable to find a "woodsy" scent that works. This one gave me that "classic" man feel, and with Caesar Man I felt awesome!
Yeah, I don't have a good reason for not having the aftershave yet. I just haven't gotten around to it. I have heard that the edt is more floral than the edc. The latter is what I am familiar with. But this may or may not have anything to do with the aftershave.

I've heard the edt is much different.
I have the after shave and it smells great but, it doesn't hang around very long.

The aftershave lasted a long while on my face, but the cologne IS cheaper.

crfcom, does it match the soap? I was told the a/s is the closest.
I've had both, and to my nose, the A/S and the EdC splash are very similar, and the A/S lasted quite long, but I did apply it liberally. If you like one, I'm pretty sure you will like the other. I don't feel like I need both, either will do, but of course others may feel differently. And yes, both A/S and EdC smell very similar to the shaving soap. The EdT spray, on the other hand, smells very different.

Same here. Cologne matches soap. I really enjoy them, but wish the cologne lasted longer.
I use Tabac AS and EDC. The scents are very similar.

Thanks for the help guys. How are the dry downs? If they are pretty much the same I'll get the cologne and compare to my sample of the a/s.
I also have and enjoy both, but I find a sweetness in the AS that the cologne lacks. Also, as stated in other threads, I find this to be a cool weather scent. It is almost TABAC season now.

I don't find it to be sweet, though.
To me the AS is the Spiciest/most peppery, followed by the EDC... The EDT is the most Floral of the three.

If it resembles the soap, I'd be happy with the cologne methinks.
I own all three (big bottles of the AS and EDC and 100mL of the EDT) and I find the AS and EDC to be extremely similar - the fact that the AS has such incredible longevity means that the EDC is not an essential purchase in my opinion, but hey, it's cheap and it can only add to the scent of the AS, so I'll keep using it.
As previous posters have stated, the EDT is something of the odd man out (the scents of the EDC and AS are more closely related to that of the soap) , it has a more sharp, floral feel than the powdery/spicy tones of the other two.
The EDT is still very good, but I don't find myself reaching for it very often - the AS/EDC combo has me covered all day, and they match the smell of the utterly amazing soap.
