Has anyone tried this new scent?

I got a sample vial from a friend and assumed it was a discontinued scent. It pays to read this board I guess.
I had not smelled this scent in over 10 years when it was comparable to Trumpers. I ran out and always meant to buy another bottle but never got around to it. I recently bought a bottle. I had heard that it was reformulated but I thought I would give it a shot.
The bottle was repackaged. Very attractive indeed. Unfortunately, when I got a whiff of the new juice, there was no comparison to the old formula. Sometimes you dick around with something that works and wind up with something totally different. The scent is more aquatic closer to 1804. Not for me. I sent it to my son and he really likes it. He is 25 years old so that tells me that most young men will like it.

I emailed John at T&H to ask him for some samples of this offering as I was interested about a month ago. He indicated they do not have samples at this time.
He also mentioned as you said here that the fragrance is nothing like the old sandalwood they used to offer and that it was quite similar to 1805. I too, being a fan of the older forumla was not very happy about this, but I have yet to sample it. I do like 1805, but it is not what I would envision or appreciate in a sandalwood scent.
