T&H Lavender - skipping

I've been making my way through several T&H cream samples. This morning I used the Lavender cream with my HD and a Red Personna. I love the scent, but the razor will not glide with this cream. Lots of skipping. It is disappointing since I love the scent so much. I think it would stop me from buying this cream. Anyone else experience this? Any other lavender products with as nice a scent which might perform better?

Thanks!

I haven't used the T&H Lavender cream, but I do have a tub of their Ultimate Comfort cream. Despite their claim that it is unscented, it has a distinct lavender scent, and it lathers up rich and creamy and performs like a dream. I get a DFS or better shave every time I use it.

Double or triple the amount of product you make your lather with, then report back.

X2...
I recently tried to stretch my gft rose farther than I should have - the resulting lather looked ok, but performed terribly. I've gotten good shaves with it before, so it was just too much water to too little product.

I totally agree with David.
The Ultimate Comfort is actually a Lavender scented shaving cream.
And it is, in my opinion, the best cream in the T&H line and one of the very best available on the market.
Maybe for the extra amount of glycerin it contains, it produces TONS of rich, slick, moisturizing and creamy lather and delivers great, fantastic, smooth shaves every time.
Simply outstanding.

My number 1 cream.

Eh. Amount of product didn't make much difference. I did take a long hot shower beforehand, and I think this accounts for any improvement in the shave. I had plenty of lather with yesterday's shave, too. Still smells great!

I get consistently slick lather out of Truefitt stuff - I picked up a sample pack and loved it, but decided to order the Ultimate Comfort cream at the end of the day (for the faint lavender and improved performance).

I just have the sample pack, but the Lavender was my favorite for being very English, and Trafalgar was my second-favorite.

I hated 1805, Almond, and Ultimate Comfort, however. Especially almond. Blech! It smelled like Disaronno on my face.

Thanks for the suggestions and feedback. I do like the Ultimate Comfort. Works better for me than the Lavender. I'll consider this for a T&H cream.

Someone once said samples "suck" because people try to get too many shaves out of each little sample, thus getting a sub-par performance.

I think the scent is just so-so, but it is one of best shaving creams I've ever tried. I have a tub, and put up with the so-so scent for that amazing performance.

I've tried to "stretch" samples too far. I've also inadvertantly used too little cream simply trying to get the "right" amount. I now use more than an almond size, sometimes twice that much, to make sure I get enough cream to make a good lather. The difference in cost is too insignificant to me to put up with subpar performance from a cream that's capable of more.

I was actually about to make a post about the T&H Lavender and the Unscented T&H. The T&H Lav is currently my favorite of all my products. The unscented Ultimate Comfort is basically the same one I think but with less lavender scent.
Even though they say it is unscented it has a faint scent identical to the lavender. The Grafton is also nice. 1805 is next on my list.
