I am considering giving my trusty 10/22 to my son for Christmas, but would like to modernize it for him a bit. Suggestions for a synthetic stock or, better yet, tactical kit for the li'l Ruger, anyone?

I just got a Bushnell scope and mounts for my dad's old Savage single shot bolt action .22 rifle that he gave to one of my boys. I don't know about replacement stocks, but I'm sure you can find plenty for your rifle. I haven't had much luck searching for parts for ours, I can find them, just seem to be out everywhere I look. Numrich Gun Parts has a lot of replacement parts, I'm not sure about modification kits though.
