Synthetic brush

I have non-synthetic brush...

...but, I'd like something synthetic for travel, and just to say I have one too. Suggestions? Recommendations? And to both why.

oh, I'm looking in $30-$60 price range. Cheaper is good more expensive is not.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

I have both a Whipped Dog synthetic and a TGN synthetic knotted brush. I think they're both incredibly soft, but I like the TGN knot a bit more. The loft isn't as tall on the TGN and makes lathering a breeze. It's a bit of a lather hot, so I have to work a little to get everything out.
Other options would be a Franks Shaving Pur-Tech or a H.I.S. synthetic brush. I have a Pur-Tech on the way and I'll be sure to post a review!

Muhle silvertip fiber (2.0) or black fiber from Connaught? Significantly cheaper from them than from US/Canadian vendors.

The Muhle HJM Black Fibre would make a great travel brush for under $30. Incredibly soft, fast-drying, and a great lathermaker.

If you like more backbone, the Kent Infinity Silvertex (my favorite brush) is like a synth version of a really good boar; scrubby yet soft.

I just ordered a Muhle Silvertip Fibre from Connaught 21mm for $45.38 shipped. Many great reviews. Consesus is that Muhle Silvertip is unlike any synthetic out there. Supposedly their proprietary blend. We shall see.

A really nice brush at the low end of your price range ($20-$25) is the Kent Silvertex Infinity. It's very well made ans had lots of backbone. I love my Muhle V2s, and Connaught has them for under $50--but the Kent is one of shavings very best bargains.

Yep, the 19, 21, or 23mm Muhle from Connaught would be my choice. Seems to be the best synthetic out there right now. I usually get my orders in from them around 5-7 business days.

Muhle STF 23. No need to soak it in water, is dry in a few hours. I use it for face and bowl lathering - if you use it in the face, make sure you don´t put too much water in the knot, only into the tips. Makes creamy foam and is a full-size brush - not a "travel brush" that makes you want to arrive back home where the proper brush is.

Only problem: You may also want to use it at home.

I have the Muhle in a 21 and v2 fibres. Use it as my travel brush (in fact, just came home last night). I like it so much I rotate with my non-travel brushes (both boar and badger).

I have the H.I.S and while I love it's bigger brother, the travel brush is kind of lackluster. It's just to hard to splay on the face and I noticed that it didn't quite dry completely from my last trip leaving it smelling a bit musty. I would not recommend it.

Another vote for the Muhle syn brush. I have one in 23mm and use it as my travel brush - plus it is in my rotation.

I don't have much to compare it to, but I bought a synthetic from The Body Shop for $12 at a store. $9 + shipping on line.

I bought the brush for travel, and am happy with it, though at home I usually reach for my cheap VDH boar.

Really? This is simply astounding. I was put off from ordering from across the pond due to waiting 3 weeks with my last two orders from two seperate vendors. I'll have to keep this in mind!
Thanks!

Got the same thing at their London store (with a little sample of the Maca Root cream) and both are first rate.

I have both the Muhle v2 and the Kent Silvertex. In my opinion the Muhle is miles ahead.
To me the Kent brush has too much backbone, I find it difficult to splay and the Muhle is easier to produce lather.

Yep, I've ordered twice. One time on a Thursday and it came Friday the next week. The next time (two weeks ago) was on a Tuesday and it came Thursday of the next week. Excellent prices, cheap shipping, quick too.
