I have several merkur razors, I am never sure which one to pick up each morning. My question is relatively simple, does one keep blades in each razor and use them at will, or transfer one blade to another? right now, I have 3 razors 'fully loaded' and use them at will. I have lost count when I commenced the new blade in each razor.

I switch the blade from razor to razor. Makes it easy to remember how many shaves are on a blade. Also reduces the risk of absent-mindedly picking up a razor by the head and cutting myself.
I used to use one razor for the entire life of the blade (3 shaves), then load a fresh blade into a fresh razor. Now I pretty much use the razor day in, day out.
I only use one razor, but if I had more than one in my rotation, I would load a blade, use the same razor for the 3 or 4 shaves I could get out of that blade, and then load a new blade into a different razor.
In other words, use the same razor from start to finish of that blade's life.
That way, you'd always know: 1) which razor to pick up in the morning for your shave, and 2) how many shaves are on the blade.

This is what I do...I can also keep track of which blades I like best in which razor.
Should start keeping notes, this could get confusing
Rule #1 about safe razor handling: Treat every razor as if it is loaded!
