It's a good day! I just got a sweet deal on EBay for a R.J. Roberts with custom purple heart wood scales. I can't wait to get it! It was listed at a start price of $49.00 and a buy it now at $197.00 only one other half hearted bid was entered and I got it for $54.00.
But I could only find one article on R.J. Roberts on B&B who was asking the same question of the history and said it was a great shave.Googling didn't get much either.

Although this is a 11/16" razor make no mistake it is a BIG Victorian era razor. Set in custom exotic purple heart wood scales with machined brass wedge and pins, scales and wedge made by myself. 11/16" blade, full hollow grind.
