Supporting custom brush makers, questions

So I bought a Duke 2, love it. It has back bone, but soft, love it.

However, I want to support some brush makers, and get something custom in the process.

I see a lot of TGN knots used, whats someone like Lee (M&F/Rooney) use?

Are all the knots basically from the same Chinese factory?

I missed a few chances on a blue coral m&f, which I liked looks of

I know Rudy has great reviews...

What say you?

Lee reportedly ties his own knots, so a custom brush from him is truly unique. The other custom makers all seem to use ready made knots, such as those available from TGN (Rudy will order a custom Shavemac knot to put in a your handle as well, so this is another option if you like the German style knots.) This difference is reflected in the premium price you'll pay for an M&F (or an RV with a Shavemac knot). In my experience most of the custom makers do outstanding work turning the handles, which is where you can really get creative and design something special for yourself.

I have 3 brushes from member bobfarvour and one on the way from Rudy. I really like the TGN 2 band Finest knots a lot. The only badger brush I have that is higher quality is a Thater 3 band that cost significantly more what Rudy and Bob charge. I have not tried a really high end 2 band yet (Rooney Heritage, Thater, Simpson, etc), but I think brushes from these gentlemen are a great value.
