Super Speed & Arko: The Perfect One-Two Punch

This morning, I volunteered (a.k.a. angled to score some good-husband points) to wake up, change, feed, and hang out with the kids while my wife slept in a little, then showered and got ready. By the time she came downstairs and the kids were squared away, I realized I had 30 minutes to take care of all 3 S'es before we had to leave for a friend's kid's birthday party. I was gonna have to work fast, and history has proven that shaving in a hurry usually turns out being a bloodbath for me.

I took care of the first S, then filled the shaving bowl with water, threw the brush in to soak, and jumped in the shower. When I got out, I had 10 minutes to shave, so I reached for the trusty 1953 Super Speed (with what I believed was a nice, mild Personna red on its third shave) and the Arko stick. After a vigorous face lathering, I shaved faster than I've ever shaved before, then quickly rinsed, relathered, and for the second WTG pass, blade-buffed like a human Norelco.

When all was said and done, I didn't spot a single nick or weeper, but I was sure the alum would sting something fierce - nope, nothing! I had a more-than-respectable CCS without any burn or discomfort, and made it out of the house right on time. Arko and Super Speed are a truly magical combination!

Awesome!!! Lol...

I received a 1953 Super speed I purchased from a forum member this morning, didnt get to use it because I had already shaved but I'm giving it a test run tomorrow.

Arko is just that good! And super speeds and techs are so mild that they are almost effortless.

Glad to hear these are mild as I'm so used to my R89.

No doubt, a great combo!

Anything which gets the job done in the right manner is a winner. If the same combination can leave some beer money on the table, that makes it even better, huh?!

"Beer money"? Don't you mean "AD money"? :biggrin1:

What I forgot to mention was that, as I was rinsing the razor at the end, I saw that I was wrong about there being a third-shave Personna red in there, it was a Feather that I could only recall using once. Those Feathers scared the crap out of me and had the tendency to bite me in the EJ DE89, but apparently in the SS, buttah!
