Good man, and thanks for offering PIFs. Iridiums are great blades and whoever hasn't tried these, should.

I'm interested, but I'm pretty new to the forum and wetshaving, so I don't know if there are any rules for this kind of stuff. If there are, I'm sorry. Moreover, I live in Portugal, not in the US...

Cheers,
Stefano

That's really kind of you to offer! You like those Super Iridiums that much, huh? I'll keep that in mind for future experimentation.

Man, if you live in Portugal do not forget to take a look at our PT forum here, lots of tips and where to buy some nice stuff...Go to User CP and social groups and you will find our group of PT fellows BBers!! To introduce you to this beautiful world without worries.

About Iridiums i have some packs and i live in Portugal too.

I received them in the mail yesterday. I can't wait to try one of these Russians tomorrow. Thanks, REALTORE!!!

Got mine today! Thanks to the OP (who also included a few others to sample)!

I'll give the Iridiums a go when I change my blade this weekend.

edit: On the likely chance that I like these blades (given the reviews), where can I find more?

I had bought a 10-pack of Super Iridiums back a few months ago for evaluation. For whatever reason, my pack of Super Iridiums were badly glued to the inner packaging. Virtually every one of the six remaining blades that I opened this morning were glued over one of the cutting edges in two splotches. Previously, I had used some of these blades and, while the shave was OK (not nearly as good as a Feather), I decided to use up the rest of these Super Iridiums.

One solution is to use the old blade to clean the glue off the new blade. I simply don't like handling the blades any more than necessary. Also, the glue was coming off in the razor. For the few bucks that these 10 Super Iridiums cost me, it wasn't worth the hassle to do what the manufacturer should have taken care of by proper QC during the production and packaging process. My Super Iridiums are history.

Those spots are a trademark of any blade made in the St. Petersburg, Russia plant that is 65% owned by Gillette, and the rest by the government.

They are a deal breaker for me because of the very reasons you cited.

I like Super Iridiums, Polsilvers, and have a small stash of 7o'clock yellows, but won't be buying more after I use them up.

There are other, cheaper blades that work just as well for me and don't have the huge wax/glue spots.
