I have a Lowe Alpine Ecrin fleece jacket (like this one - http://www.adventuretravelmagazine.co.uk/index.php/gear/256-on-test-lowe-alpine-ecrin) which I love, but sadly it has been discontinued. I would like to know your suggestions on what to get as a replacement instead. With the current one, I like the fact that it is light, but still keeps your at a comfortable temperature. Plus, after washing it, it dries in less than one hour.

I use the heck out of my Patagonia R2. It packs up really nice and is very warm for the weight.
I have a Lowe Alpine soft shell that I love. I also have a Mountain Hardware fleece that gets a lot of love depending on what I'm doing. Both are upwards of ten years old and other than starting to have some stains on the soft shell from some muddy/bloody mountain bike rides, look great.

The Columbia Steens Mountain Fleece jacket is a good budget option. I finally wore mine out after over a decade of frequent use. I upgraded to a North Face soft shell, but wouldn't (and obviously don't) hesitate to recommend the Columbia.
I really like the Eddie Bauer First Ascent line. Designed by mountain guides, so there is nothing extra, and weight to warmth ratio is great. I've had my fleece for four years, still going strong.
I'm a big fan of T.A.D.'s jackets/hoodies. They are great if you can stomach the price.
I have used a LL Bean Wind Challenger for many years and have not had a complaint. It is wind and water resistant. May not be the lightest jacket but quality built. LL Bean has a great return policy.

Lowe Alpine, Patagonia, Marmot, Mountain Hardware, etc...the higher end cost more initially, but you will own them a lot longer.
