Suggestions for next razor

Although I don't own one and have never used one...Above the Tie just announced they are closing their doors. From what I've read from some of our member posts, they make an excellent product. All of their stuff is now priced to move. Might be a good idea to go take a look at what they have.

I love my ATT X1 AC Slant so much, I ordered their S1 DE Safety Bar razor and stand, along with their leather traveling razor case. I already have the traveling case and if you are in the market for one, they are wonderful. I got the first one on sale and the current price is the same.

I’m taking a chance on the S1…..impulse buy without any research.

Overall, from what you describe, I think technique matters more than which razor and blade you use. The Merkur 37 C is a fairly aggressive razor, and yet also a very smooth razor. If you toss a sharp blade in it (e.g. Feather, BIC, Personna Med Prep) and don't get a close and comfortable shave, you could likely benefit from changing something in terms of technique.
