What's new

Suds

Since embarking on this wet-shaving adventure, I've acquired some of the common shave cremes --several C&E, Proraso, Caswell-Massey, etc. I've been satisfied with them, but like everyone else here at B&B, the opportunity to acquire more has kicked in. :biggrin1:

With all the buzz and postings about Honey_Sues shea soaps, an order was, well, in order. Friday last, placed the eBay order. Sue shipped it on Monday, and upon return from work today discovered the priority mail delivery left by the nice postal lady. :001_tt2: This shaving stuff is like opening presents on Christmas! Naturally, you don't really think that I'm going to wait until tomorrow to lather up, do you? I unwrapped the pucks, placed them in the cheap tupperware disposables I bought and fetched the Sandalwood container.

I ran the hot water and filled the lather bowl so it would heat while prepping my face with a hot, wet, washcloth. Using a C&E brush, I lightly swirled over the fresh cake of soap a dozen times or a slightly more. The fragrance was very nice. Emptying the water from the lather bowl, I set about building a lather in it. Stir, Stir, Stir, Stir, --Holy Coolwhip, BATMAN!-- This stuff lathers up as well as any creme!

Swirled and painted up my neck and face, lightly ran a razor over it. I cleared and rinsed my face with the washcloth, --repeat. The lather was nice and slick, and quite cushiony. There was enough lather that I could have gone 3, 4 latherings on the dozen or so swirls. (Man, this soap is going to last forever)

The bowl and brush cleaned up easily and very nicely. I don't know what Honey_Sue puts in these soaps, but drying my face, I was aware that my skin was left very soft and smooth. What a great shave soap! I'm pleased with the product and service; ...and there are more great soapers on this Board!

I can hardly wait to do this all over again, tomorrow morning.

The adventure continues...

Batman uses this stuff too???

Gotham City will never be the same!!! :001_unsur

John,

I agree, this stuff does indeed lather up as well any any creme I have used. I had always been a 'creme' guy until I found HB soaps. Now my creams are sitting idly by, longing for a brush. It's the easiest soap to lather I have found and it does leave your face feeling 'Batman Smooth Baby'!

Ditto from me:thumbup:

I agree, The Honeybee soap is the best thing since sliced bread. I can't say enough good about this soap. Since getting some, my creams are now sitting idle. Every now and then, I'll use a cream, but it is right back to the Honeybee soap. I have become spoiled with this soap.
